Progress through innovation
From humble beginnings nearly 20 years ago, we are proud to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2025. We are thrilled to be serving more than 1,700 schools worldwide, and our community continues to grow year on year.
iSAMS proudly announces its integration with Stripe, enabling seamless online payments, and the launch of its Auto Debits product, bringing Direct Debit capabilities into the Fee Billing module.
iSAMS also introduces US curriculum management, supporting schools with multi-curriculum needs. Additionally, iSAMS expands into the Australian education market, offering Independent schools a secure, flexible, cloud-based management system.
These updates address increasing global demand for modern, integrated EdTech solutions, helping educators move beyond outdated, fragmented technology.
2024
Global recognition
iSAMS welcomed its 1,600th school, serving over 90 countries in 2024. The launch of the Parent Cloud Portal prioritised parent-school communication for our user base and encouraged parental self-service.
iSAMS was awarded Best EdTech Product at the Global EdTech Awards, achieved ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications, and maintained high customer satisfaction thanks to an efficient customer support team.
AI-powered Q&A features were developed for the iSAMS Central platform, allowing intuitive custom reporting for key school data. Additionally, the new Reports Designer tool empowered schools to easily customise reports thanks to a user-friendly interface.
2023
See the whole picture
Now supporting 1,400+ schools globally, with 1.3M student profiles managed within iSAMS, we launched iSAMS Central; a powerful data analytics tool driven by Power BI.
We upgraded our Ideas Portal to encourage feedback and system innovation, which allowed iSAMS users to communicate their thoughts and share new ideas with our product and development teams.
We introduced the first iUniversity certification exam, plus 18 new free courses, enhancing schools’ iSAMS capabilities and encouraging community engagement.
2022
Think beyond iSAMS
We welcomed our 1,200th school, with our community now spanning 90 countries. We're proud to support ISP, a leading group of 105 private International schools operating in more than 25 markets, and to contribute to their continued growth globally.
This year also saw the launch of a dedicated payment gateway, which enabled parents to pay school fees securely online. In further efforts to support HR, finance and admissions teams, and we announced our self-service HR solution. We also launched iUniversity, an on-demand learning platform to support iSAMS users in enhancing their knowledge of our robust system.
It was also the year we were proud to welcome King’s InterHigh, a global online school serving more than 6,000 students across 156 countries.
2021
Streamline academics and enrolment
We launched Gradebooks, a module for convenient data entry, progress monitoring, grade calculation, sharing, and secure data management. Plus, the Admissions Cloud Portal: branded, mobile-friendly websites for easy application and tracking.
The Glasgow Academy improved operations and finances by adopting iSAMS, a comprehensive management information system.
2020
iSAMS joins IRIS Software Group
As we celebrated 15 years since the founding of iSAMS, we also joined the IRIS Software Group. The acquisition positioned iSAMS as the most complete school management software on the market, combining finance, HR and payroll solutions with our powerful cloud-based system.
We also welcomed the 1,000th school to our growing community, spanning more than 80 countries.
2019
Improving the user experience
We welcomed over 950 schools to our ever-growing client community, spanning more than 75 countries around the world. Plus, with our improved user interface and secure single sign-on functionality enabled across our suite of portals and multilingual Apps, accessing key school information whenever you need it and wherever you are became even easier.
We also shared a significant announcement from our Service Centre. In 2019, we opened an office in Sydney, Australia! This new office enabled us to provide iSAMS Support, an essential part of our services, 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
2018
Truly connected system
Our 750th school takes ownership of its iSAMS system and, to enhance operations for our growing community of schools, we launched the iReport App. The solution enables teachers to complete reports even more easily, wherever they are working. Further feature launches included the GDPR data protection module for data compliance and safeguarding, and Wellbeing Manager for pastoral support.
The most significant achievement this year is the launch of our fully integrated finance management software, iFinance. We were the first school management software provider to offer a fully integrated accounting and school management software package.
2017
IB schools benefit from iSAMS
International Baccalaureates (IB) became increasingly popular globally and iSAMS’ network of partner schools around the world continued to grow. We worked closely with third-party IB program learning management platforms to streamline multiple curriculum management with an integrated approach.
We welcomed Inspired Education, a leading group of premium schools, offering academic excellence to over 90,000 students in 119 schools across 27 countries.
2016
Integrations made possible
Now the leading school management software supplier to Independent schools, we introduced the partner Marketplace. iSAMS Marketplace brings schools and third-party providers together to achieve powerful integrations with iSAMS; all thanks to our comprehensive APIs.
We also launched the online iSAMS Admissions Portal, a paperless portal to seamlessly manage student enrolments, which provided schools with the power to create a branded parental application experience.
2015
A decade of iSAMS
In our 10th anniversary year, we launched our core suite of mobile apps for iTeacher, iParent and iStudent. The apps were a hit with teachers and learners, and enabled an immediate lift in engagement and communication with parents and students.
The apps give access to almost every area of daily school life; it’s hard to imagine iSAMS without them now.
2014
Efficient compliance
More than 300 schools were now enjoying the capabilities of iSAMS around the world. Our team also released the Census module, helping schools fulfil all UK and International census requirements.
2012
A community in the cloud
We launched iCommunity, our dedicated and free of charge knowledge-sharing online community for iSAMS schools.
The Fee Billing module was also released, making it easier for bursars and finance departments to manage complex student billing.
2011
Access iSAMS on your smartphone
In our sixth year, we guided our 100th client, Cheadle Hulme School, through its migration to iSAMS.
iSAMS iTeacher App was also launched, making us the first school management software provider with a mobile app for taking registers and accessing core student data. Teacher feedback showed that system accessibility from anywhere at any time was a huge time-saver.
2010
iSAMS turns five years old
We barely noticed our five-year anniversary flying by among all the new school database installations, but in 2010 we launched a new module combining old technology with new.
The SMS Gateway allows schools to send SMS text messages straight from iSAMS. The feature transformed broadcast and emergency parent communications for our user base.
2009
iSAMS expands internationally
iSAMS hit the global market with installations in our first International schools in Asia and the Middle East. This included schools in Singapore and Qatar.
We also released the Cover Manager module, recognising schools’ need for a reliable way to cover and manage absent teachers.
2008
Modules attract more schools
We welcomed our first prep school to the iSAMS family, attracted by the flexible features available to meet their needs. We also added more modules. Reward and Conduct was designed as a flexible pastoral care module to suit each school’s internal approach and store every positive and negative event.
We also released Tracking Manager, enabling teachers to track and analyse the performance of classes or individual students.
2007
Launching our secure cloud hosting
Impressed by the software and the testimonials of our early adopters, more and more prestigious schools migrated to iSAMS from alternative school management systems – many of which were legacy based systems.
We finished developing and launched our cloud hosting service, supporting schools with a secure cloud server option.
2006
Connecting the full school community
We finished developing iSAMS’ HR module, designed to help schools track and manage their entire staff body.
We also launched our online Parent and Student Portals. These features made us the first school management software provider to publish school-related information directly to parents and students via the internet.
2005
iSAMS launches commercially
We launched the first version of iSAMS – the very first 100% web-based school management software on the market anywhere. It featured the core curriculum and timetable management modules, plus assessments and reporting, as well as the admissions feature.
Our first two partner schools, so instrumental in our early product development, were Rugby School and Warwick School in England.
